Privacy and data management
In effect August 14, 2026. This page is updated whenever our practices change, never quietly: its date changes with it.
In short. We collect the strict minimum, keep it in Canada, sell nothing, show no ads, run no ad trackers, and you can have everything erased yourself. A personal audit is intimate: the system is built accordingly.
Who we are and how to reach us
WL Agent is the public name of the application operated by its founder in Quebec, Canada. For any question about your personal information, to access it, correct it or have it erased, write to the person responsible for the protection of personal information: privacy@weightlossagent.ai. We answer within 30 days.
On this site: the waitlist
When you join the waitlist, we record four things: your email, your language (English or French), the source of your visit if your link carried one (a YouTube ad, for example), and the date. That is all.
- Single use: sending your beta invitation. No newsletter, no follow-ups, never spam.
- Removal on request: one email to privacy@weightlossagent.ai and your line is erased.
- Retention: until your invitation or your removal request.
The site itself sets no cookies, uses no analytics and no ad trackers. The source of your visit is kept in your own browser for the duration of your session, then forgotten if you do not sign up. No resource is loaded from any third party server.
In the app (beta): your data
If you become a beta member, the app keeps what you entrust to it to do its job: your personal audit answers, your vision and plan, your food journal, your weigh-ins and measurements, your photos, your challenge days and your conversations with the coach.
- One private space per person. Your data lives in a space that belongs to you alone. The coach is technically walled to your space: it cannot reach anyone else's data, and nobody reaches yours. The administrator has no access to the content of your space.
- An honest history. Every entry is dated and kept append-only: your history is never rewritten or edited.
- No password. Your email and a one-time 6 digit code. A session cookie keeps you signed in on your device: it is the only cookie in the system, and that is all it does.
- Encrypted in transit. Everything travels over HTTPS.
- Delete means delete. From inside the app, you can delete your account: your whole space (audit, journal, photos, measurements, conversations) is erased with it.
Where the data lives
On our server hosted at DigitalOcean, in its Toronto, Canada data centre. Backups follow the same regime.
The providers that touch anything
We use no advertising or tracking service. Four technical providers are involved, each for one precise task:
- DigitalOcean: server hosting, in Toronto.
- Anthropic: the AI engine behind the coach. Your messages to the coach and the data needed for its answer (your file, your telemetry) are sent to it to generate each reply. Anthropic does not use these exchanges to train its models.
- Resend: sending the sign-in code and invitation emails. Your email address transits through it for that delivery.
- Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode, only the product code is looked up. Never your identity, never your journal.
What we never do
- Sell, rent or trade your information, to anyone.
- Share it for advertising or profiling.
- Show ads in the app or on this site.
- Ask for more than the service requires.
Your rights
Under Quebec and Canadian privacy law, you can at any time: access your information, have it corrected, remove your email from the waitlist, withdraw consent and have your account and space erased (directly in the app, or by email). Write to privacy@weightlossagent.ai. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may address the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Minimum age
WL Agent is for adults. The service is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, this page changes with them, and so does its effective date. A significant change will be announced to members by email.
